787/Cohoes Boulevard Construction – What You Need To Know

Roadwork and reconstruction of Cohoes Boulevard has begun. There are some days and times this week that you should be aware of if you are heading through this construction zone. There have been many accidents involving pedestrians in the stretch after 787 known as Cohoes Boulevard including a fatal accident that killed a 16 year old girl in 2016. There have been many plans to revamp and redo that road to make it safer for both pedestrians and motorists. After much planning, construction is underway.

According to the New York State Department of Transportation, you can expect delays and lane closures on 787 from Tibbets Ave to New Courtland-Route 32. There will be closures Northbound on 787 from 4am to 2pm. Monday through Friday expect Southbound closures from 9am to 7pm. There will also be a traffic shift that will be in affect for two months.

Next week, April 1st through the 5th, they plan on doing night work that will last four weeks Monday through Friday and also some weekend shutdowns are planned along the route.
