How To Prepare For A Snow Storm

The Capital Region is looking at a big, messy snow storm on Friday. The heaviest stuff is expected to hit sometime during the afternoon and continue throughout the evening, possibly until Saturday morning. The area could get buried with about 9 inches of snow. Areas east of Albany could see more. I don’t think you’ll need to hide in your doomsday bunker, but it’s always good to be prepared. We’re Upstate New Yorkers… we got this!

Cold Weather Jokes

If you haven’t left the house yet this week, you’re probably better off. As I write this it’s currently 5 degrees and “feels like” negative 7 degrees. It’s so cold that, even inside a heated office building, I haven’t taken my jacket off all week. According to the current forecast, temperatures aren’t getting any more comfortable this week. Tomorrow we’re expecting a high of 15, Friday could bring a scorching 21 degrees and Saturday it’s back to 20.

Sandy to Bring More Wind Than Irene + Less Water

 

For Albany area residents there is a touch of a silver lining with Sandy as the National Weather Service in Albany has stated that we should see more wind rather than rain when Sandy hits late Monday  and early Tuesday. Irene dumped around six inches of rain on the area but Sandy is expected to only bring between one and two inches.
