Ray Allen Hits Game Tying Three To Send NBA Finals Game Six To Overtime [VIDEO]
Ray Allen is the best three point shooter of all time. But no shot in his entire career was more meaningful to his team than the one he hit at the end of regulation in last night's Game Six of the NBA Finals. A miss would have resulted in the Heat's elimination. Instead, he buries the shot, the Heat win in overtime, and we are going to Game Seven.
It has to be mentioned on this play that Allen doesn't even get a look at the basket if not for Chris Bosh, who grabbed a couple of massive offensive rebounds late in this game to set up scoring plays for the Heat that were essential to their comeback.
Also of note is the fact that the Spurs elected not to foul while up by three, and it came back to bite them in this situation. I have always been a proponent of fouling when up by three, because two free throws can NEVER tie a three point game.
However, here we are, ready for a one game playoff to decide the NBA championship, a Super Bowl of basketball, if you will. I can't wait to see what unfolds next.
