Bridge Closing Information During Sandy
Gov Cuomo has just announced that the Tappan Zee Bridge near New York City will close at 4PM today (10/29) due to the high winds associated with Sandy. If you're wondering about any possible bridge closings in the Albany area, New York State has a twitter account setup that will display information about bridges across the state. Most of these have been lifted or will expire by the end of the day Tuesday. We were lucky that Sandy wasn't as bad as it could have been!
Sandy to Bring More Wind Than Irene + Less Water
For Albany area residents there is a touch of a silver lining with Sandy as the National Weather Service in Albany has stated that we should see more wind rather than rain when Sandy hits late Monday and early Tuesday. Irene dumped around six inches of rain on the area but Sandy is expected to only bring between one and two inches.

Three Puppies Found in Milk Crate in Schenectady [UPDATED]
UPDATE: 9/26/2012 @12N: YNN has reported that the dogs tested positive for Parvo, a neurological disorder which they couldn't treat. The surviving two puppies had to be put to sleep. So very sad.
Abused Puppies Nailed to Railroad Tracks in Albany
This has to be one of the most cruel stories we're ever seen - and just leaves us at a loss for words. Three puppies, less than a month old, were found nailed to the railroad tracks in Albany. The three puppies are a pit bull mix and were found on Saturday between North Pearl and Broadway.
