Summer is getting ready to kick in and for some high school students, the time has come to start seriously thinking about colleges and universities that they’d be interested in visiting and touring over the summer. Well a website known as Niche.com recently released their 2017 ranking of the hardest colleges and universities to get into in every state.  Now this is not to burst anyone’s bubble or crush anyone’s dreams. You can do whatever you put your mind to, including getting into the college of your choice. You may be wondering what the rankings were based on. Niche based its ranking on colleges’ acceptance rates and students’ SAT/ACT test scores using data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Among the 100 colleges and universities that made it to the “not so easy to get into list” were some schools in the Capital Region including Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (#9), Skidmore College (#13), SUNY Plattsburgh (#39), SUNY Albany (#42), Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (#47), Siena College (#48), and the SUNY College of Agriculture & Technology at Cobleskill (#89).
