Yo Gotti Gets Introspective With J. Cole on ‘Cold Blood’

Yo Gotti has flirted with mainstream success throughout his decade-plus career as an independent rapper. Now, with his CMG imprint partnered up with Epic Records, the Memphis veteran is eyeing up a definitive crossover with his new album, 'I Am,' due Nov. 19.

Following the street favorite, 'Act Right' featuring CTE soldiers Jeezy and YG, and the less successful 'King S---' with close ally T.I., Gotti forges his first collaboration with J. Cole on the latest single off his LP.

Lead by the soulful production of Cole's frequent collaborator Canei Finch, 'Cold Blood' heavily favors the North Carolina native. His guest seems to rub off on Gotti, who takes a more sensitive approach to his street rhymes, yet fails to stay afloat in the unfamiliar musical waters.
