Thousands of people reportedly showed up in Tampa, Fla. to see a free XXXTentacion concert, which is clearly good for the rapper. The bad thing, however, is the venue only holds 750, so it was shut down due to a safety hazard.

While promoters at Dope Entertainment say the fire department shut the concert down, the Tampa Bay Times reports that the promoters called it off.

"[Dope Entertainment canceled the show] based on the number of people that were showing up," said Tampa police spokesman Steve Hegarty.

After the concert was cancelled, large crowds took to the streets until they were dispersed by police. "We want X," they screamed, showing both their passion for the rapper and their frustration of not seeing him.

Later on, the 19-year-old addressed the cancellation on social media and seemed to be just as disappointed as his fans.

"Tampa, my deepest apologies. I drove all the way down here. I drove four hours just to basically have the show cancelled on me," he wrote. "Apparently, because it was over capacity, there was at least 3,000 to 4,000 of you outside and the venue only could support 750. As far as the new free show, I'm going to try and get a free show going, but that was the only venue that wanted to work with me, but just bear with me. I'm going to try to work this out."

Clearly, it's been an eventful year for XXX, as he's rocked the rap world as of late, building hs buzz with his recently released album 17, which got props from none other than Kendrick Lamar.

It'll be interesting to see where the Florida rapper's career goes from here, and if he'll stir up any more controversy.
