Wiz Khalifa’s Uncle Shot Dead, Teen Arrested

In an all too familiar story here on The Boombox, we sadly have to report that Wiz Khalifa’s uncle, Imani Porter, was shot and killed Wednesday (Jan. 8) in Pittsburgh, Pa. A 17-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with the murder.

According to CBS Pittsburgh News, the alleged shooter, Jaron Young, has been charged with homicide, conspiracy and several other crimes related to the shooting. Another man is also being sought by police in this case.

The tragic incident happened in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant at The Waterfront. Porter delivered several bricks of heroin for distribution when Young and another suspect pulled out guns.

Porter was subsequently shot in the head and died later at UPMC Mercy Hospital.

The victim’s father, Jibril Abdul-Hafith, has been overcome with grief since the death of his son. "I’ve been crying all night, been crying when I woke up," he said. "There’s a hole in my heart."

Wiz Khalifa also express his condolences through his Twitter feed.
