Three Albany Schools are at a risk are being taken over by the state. Philip Schuyler Achievement Academy, Hackett Middle School and Albany High School. If the schools do not improve, the state will step in. Are these schools really that bad ?

Hackett Middle School has been identified as a “persistently struggling school,” which means it only has the upcoming school year to change its status.

“Hackett is on the right path,” Albany City Schools Superintendent Marguerite Vanden Wyngaard said. “It already is. I do believe that we are looking to extend the day there a little bit longer.”

I'm interested in hearing from parents of children who attend these schools. I have visited two out of three schools and they didn't seem that bad to me.
