Veronica Alber, of West Lebanon, has been working on a project, not to enhance her own life but the life of her friend and personal hero.

Veronica's friend, Keith White Jr., is in need of a wheelchair van to better serve his mom and family transporting him back and forth to doctors and etc. Keith's disability is related to a serious brain malformation that left him with intellectual disabilities such as, Cerebral palsy, vision and hearing impairments, epilepsy and frequent aspiration pneumonia. He frequently requires home-based IV antibiotic treatment every 6 hours for respiratory infections and he is also on supplemental Oxygen therapy.

Veronica, who also suffers from Cerebral palsy, has been working all year to throw together a benefit for Keith, including planning the event and associated fundraisers.

When she's not busy planning the fundraiser for Keith, she also raises money for Stride and the Wounded Warrior program.

As part of the “Hometown Heroes” series, we’ve partnered with County Waste, Latham Ford, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region and Awards by Walsh to celebrate local unsung heroes for their good deeds and honorable work. Thank you, Veronica, for all that you do!
