Watch Gallant and Saba Perform “Bourbon” Remix and More
The 22-year-old rhymer stopped by the NPR office in Washington, D.C. for a performance of his guest verse on Gallant's "Bourbon" Remix. The track is a smooth, soulful love song, and Gallant kills the hook, singing, "Cause I loved in cold blood and got used to it/Angels say trust the detox/But I'm shaking I need it like bourbon in my coffee cup."
Saba's fast-paced delivery and thoughtful lyrics complement the track perfectly. Rocking a grey hoodie, maroon jacket and orange beanie, Saba delivers a charismatic performance, which you can watch below courtesy of NPR. "Bourbon" is a record from Gallant's 2016 project Ology, which you can cop from iTunes for $9.99.
In other Saba-related news, the West Side, Chi rapper recently spoke to XXL about a number of different topics for Show & Prove. Chicago OG Twista was also interviewed for the article, and he had high praise for the up-and-coming Saba. “His flows are very melodic and he does cadences no one else does,” Twista says. “He talks about the city and life in general from an angle like nobody else.”
If you want to hear new music from Saba, check out his latest track, "Monday to Monday." He raps about his grind, “Honestly I think that 24 seven a understatement to my day to day/If ain’t no way then imma make way/Naysayers say it no way/I ain’t never listen/Kept em at a distance."
As aforementioned, check out Saba and Gallant's NPR Tiny Desk concert below. In addition to "Bourbon" Remix, Gallant runs through a few of his other popular songs, as well.
