On Thursday (July 4), a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Southern California. As expected, #Earthquake became a trending topic on Twitter. Because the internet, simultaneously, Tyler, The Creator's Igor single "Earfquake" also started trending on the social media app.

The actual earthquake was the largest in decades in the area and hit the Southern Cali region around 10:30 a.m. local time. According to The Los Angeles Times, the quake's center was in the Searles Valley about 100 miles from Los Angeles. Residents as far away as Long Beach, Calif. and Las Vegas are said to have felt tremors.

Fans of Tyler jokingly used the opportunity to tweet and meme about the rapper's "Earfquake" single, making it also a hot topic on social media.

"So, we just not going to act like Tyler didn’t predicted the future ??? 😂😂😂 #Earfquake," one person noted.

"More proof that @tylerthecreator IGOR is album of the year. #Earfquake," another person added.

"There is no way in hell I am about to pass up a moment to make #earfquake number one trending," another clear fan posted.

Some people were confused by the whole hash tag. "Was that earthquake so strong everyone forgot how to spell earthquake?" a Twitter user inquired.

Luckily, no casualties have been reported as a result of the quake in Southern Cali.
