Trae Tha Truth has just given back to Houston in a major way. Last Saturday (July 22) which saw H-Town celebrate the 10th annual Trae Day, which is a sort of holiday spotlighting excellent Trae's record of community service, Trae teamed with the Houston Public Library to donate 75 scholarships to students to use for higher education. Houston's local ABC affiliate reported the news on Saturday, and you can see video of their original story below.

"We were trying to find a way to excite the people, because our reading rates are really low," Trae said of his donation, which came as a part of the Houston Public Library's Hip-Hop for Literacy program.  "Sometimes you gotta give people that push to make them want to do better as a whole."

Trae's generous donation arrives about three weeks after he dropped his newest album, Tha Truth Pt. 3The project features guest appearances from the likes of Young Thug, Post Malone, Lil Durk, D.R.A.M., Maxo Kream, Tee Grizzley, Royce 5’9″ and more. Trae says it's his best work to date.

Tha Truth Pt. 3 is my best album to date, full of instant classics and timeless music,” Trae told XXL. "It’s very personal; one of the most personal albums I’ve ever made. I talk about family, like my brother who was murdered, and I talk about the ups and downs I’ve gone through to get to where I am now.”

Trae is clearly doing good work all around. Check out the story behind his scholarship donation spree just below.
