If you’ve been dreaming of a Big Tymers reunion, you’ll be happy to know it may become a reality sometime soon. The group was active from 1997 until 2003. The Big Tymers was a duo featuring Cash Money boss man, Baby (now known as Birdman), and Mannie Fresh. Fresh left the group in 2003 after a financial dispute with Birdman and Slim.

Their second album, I Got That Work, was released in 2000. It featured the singles, Get Your Roll On and #1 Stunna. It paved the way for their most successful album, Hood Rich, which featured Still Fly and Oh Yeah.

The group reunited for 2003’s Big Money Heavyweight but it didn’t chart well. Mannie Fresh left Cash Money shortly after to sign with Def Jam. Once he left, Birdman said he was “past Big Tymers.”

Time may have healed their wounds, though. Lil Wayne told MTV’s Rap Fix that there is a possibility of a reunion. He also mentioned that Drake could be adopted into the group. “But that kid is busy. There’s all kinds of possibilities.”

The biggest question mark is whether Drake would be replacing Mannie Fresh, or joining as a third member. Mannie still has some ties with Cash Money. He’s been producing records for several artists on the YMCMB roster, including Mystikal.
