The Schenectady Civic Players ‘An Inspector Calls’
If you're looking for something to do this weekend The Schenectady Civic Players are featured in their latest production, An Inspector Calls.
The play features an all minority cast and has been getting rave reviews. This weekend marks its final performances, so don't miss your chance to see it! The Friday and Saturday showings are at 8:00 PM and a Sunday matinee start at 2:30 PM.
The action of the play takes place in a large American city in 1945, where a young woman commits suicide and an eminently respectable family is subject to a routine inquiry in connection with the death. An inspector calls to interrogate the family, and during the course of his questioning, all members of the group are implicated in some way in the girl’s undoing. All of them knew her in one capacity or another. The family, closely knit and friendly at the beginning of the evening, is shown up as selfish, self-centered or cowardly, its good humor turning to acid, before the evening is over.
