MMG leader, Rick Ross, named himself after kingpin drug trafficker, “Freeway” Rick Ross. The real Rick Ross ran a massive Los Angeles drug empire in the early 80’s. Nick Cannon recently broke some news that a biopic is in the works, and he will be playing the role of Ross.

The movie, “Small Apartments,” based on a novel by Saratoga Native, Chris Millis, will receive a local premiere. The showing will happen at 6:30pm on Friday, March 1st, at the Saratoga Music Hall inside City Hall in downtown Toga.

Despite earlier reports, it looks like we’ll get a local showing of “The Place Beyond The Pines” before it’s commercial release date of April 12th. Filming of the Jimi Hendrix biopic ‘All Is by My Side’ is underway in Dublin, Ireland, and Andre 3000 seems to be adjusting just fine as the late iconic rock guitarist. Since the Hendrix estate is not supporting the project, the film will not feature original songs by Hendrix, but it will have Andre singing covers songs that Hendrix covered by well-known rock artists.
