Beastie Boys Square may never see the light of day in New York City. A chance to name the intersection featured on the Beastie Boys' 1989 album cover, 'Paul's Boutique,' has been put to an end -- for now-- after the proposal was rejected on Tuesday (Jan. 28).
The legal tiff between toymaker Goldieblox and the surviving members of the Beastie Boys appears to be over. The California-based company has removed the group’s song 'Girls' from its video.
Remember that adorable commercial that took the catchy Beastie Boys song 'Girls' and re-worked it into a girl power anthem for engineering toys for little girls?

The Beastie Boys were inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 14, the same day that Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch was hospitalized for what would be the last time. There are a lot of Beastie Boys tributes on the Internet following the death of Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch, but a Jay-Z performance of a Beasties classic has resonated with some devotees. Gawker highlighted the clip on their website so we figured you guys would like to “Ch-Check It Out” (see what we did there?).
