When Nate Dogg passed away in March of 2011, Snoop Dogg, got a tattoo in honor of his long-time friend. The tat is a portrait of Nate wearing his patented bandana. The artist who did the work was Mr. Cartoon. The ink session was published yesterday and shows Snoop talking about the first time he met Nate in High School.

“September 16, 1986, first day of Poly High School. We had science class together and we had P.E. in the seventh period, so I met him real quick. First day of school, he was in the back of the class singing, him and a couple of other little dudes. I slid in the back, let them know who I was, ‘My name is Snoop. I’m a rapper.’ The was like, ‘Go ahead, bust. Let me hear you bust.’ So I hit the beat on the table and started bustin’. From that, we went on the seventh period P.E. and became friends and locked and loaded.”

In the video, Snoop also talks about the fun-loving nature of his deceased friend, “He loved to party. He loved to have fun. One thing that I know, he don’t want his fans to be too sad for too long. Mourn his death, but at the same time, celebrate his life and celebrate his music.”

Another celebrity who attended high school with both Snoop and Nate is Cameron Diaz, who claims she used to buy pot off Snoop back in the day. I knew I liked her for a reason!
