The Braves will be without one of their best pitchers, and the Capital Region will be without one of their biggest rooting interests, for some time.

Both groups will be missing Ian Anderson, who was put on the 10-day injured list with shoulder inflammation. Per the report from SB Nation, Anderson lasted just 2 2/3 innings in his final start before the All-Star Break, and the team said that he would have his shoulder checked out during the actual break.

As it turns out, the Braves will be losing a large part of their pitching core.

Anderson has been a huge contributor for the Braves this season, in just his second season (first full season) in Major League Baseball. His 3.56 ERA is best for Braves' starters who have started 10 games or more. Him and Charlie Morton have been two steadying forces in a Braves team that has been decimated by injuries. The Braves are just days removed from losing star Ronald Acuna Jr. for the season.

Anderson was a star from the jump last season, going 3-2 with an ERA of 1.95 in six starts last season, and going 2-0 in four postseason starts for a Braves team that made it to the brink of the World Series. A third overall pick of the Braves in 2016 out of Shenendehowa High School, Anderson is ticketed for an incredible professional pitching career.

That being said, we'll have to wait a few weeks before he can continue it.
