It's a pretty exciting time for South African retailer Shelflife as they have collaborated with Dr. Zulu and New Balance to produce a very well-designed sneaker -- the "City of Gold" 574.

The New Balance 574 was chosen as Dr. Zulu's canvas and the end result is a spectacular representation of Johannesburg's gold and wealth trade. The sneaker is a bit of a double entendre however as it also spins a tale about the Parktown Prawn king cricket and its indestructible nature.

If there are ever two qualities a sneaker should have they are indestructibility as well as an heir of affluence and this New Balance silhouette bleeds both. The shoes also comes with two interchangeable velcro options for the "N" logo, a rubber prawn keying, an extra pair of black laces and a canvas carry bag.

The "City of Gold" 574 capsule is to release on April 17 exclusively to Shelflife with a wider global release on April 28, which means you can use the money for airfare on this rare pair.
