Summer is here in Upstate New York: will we see any days that rank among the hottest in Albany history?

The first week of July is bringing some hot temperatures this week, with a heat advisory in effect on Thursday, July 6th from Noon to 8 pm. The heat index will feel like it's in the high 90's with actual temps around 92 according to News Channel 13.

Since temperature records have been kept, the National Weather Service says Albany has only hit or surpassed the century mark 15 times. And I found this next stat even hotter, or harder to believe: we have not hit 100 degrees in Albany since 1953! How is that possible?

Maybe with a hot summer ahead, this will be the year we finally break the century mark and add to this list of the hottest days in Albany history!
