I’m not sure how I managed to miss this story, but a nasty incident occurred at Bow Tie Cinemas Movieland 6 in Schenectady nearly three months ago. Theaters do their best to prevent moviegoers from distracting others during the showing of their films. But as is evident from this incident, there will always be people out there who just DGAF.

A man and one of his daughters were brutally assaulted by a group after asking the teens to quiet down.

According to a Times Union article, the aggressors in the incident ticked the man off by running up and down the aisle, yelling and banging on a garbage can inside of the theater. Basically, they were being punk a$$es.

The man attempted to silence the kids by snapping at them, which apparently didn’t sit well with the youths. The d-bags decided to attack the man and his daughter, resulting in a broken nose, concussion and eye damage to the Glenville man. The teens, ages 16-18, were all charged with assault and gang assault. The youngest of the bunch is also facing additional charges for allegedly assaulting one of the man’s daughters.

What’s the moral of the story? If you want to act like a wild banshee while watching a movie, wait for the damn thing to come out on DVD and be an a-hole in the comfort of your own home.

With movie prices in the range of $10-$25, you shouldn’t have to worry about your safety, or not being able to enjoy some free time when spending your hard-earned coin.
