There are some new additions atop the Hip Hop Album sales chart this week with Rihanna and Nicki Minaj both releasing their latest works of art last Tuesday. Nicki blamed lackluster sales on stores like Target and Wal Mart refusing the distribute Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded The Re-Up. No complaint from RiRi, though! Unapologetic is sitting high on top of the hip hop throne.

“Unapologetic” is Rihanna’s seventh album in seven years (which is why early reports speculated the title to be “Seven”). Believe it or not, this is her FIRST number one! Congrats, girl!

Another female songstress that made a pop was Keyshia Cole. Her latest album, “Woman To Woman” debuted at number 10, selling just short of 100,000 copies!

The Weekend’s debut, “Trilogy”, sold very strong locally here in the capital region and landed nationally at number 32 this week. Ne-Yo’s new album “R.E.D.” was not nearly as successful as Taylor Swift’s “Red” but finished the week strong, holding ground at number 31 on the chart.
