Eminem celebrated his 44th birthday on Oct. 17. Yesterday (Nov. 29), the legendary Detroit MC took to Instagram to thank Redman for gifting him an original Def Squad jacket. You can view the photo above via Em's IG official account.

The red-and-black varsity jacket is no doubt a dope addition to Marshall's wardrobe. Eminem has high praise for Redman, typing the caption, "I had to show the world what one of my all-time favorites @redmangilla and his people at @richmondhoodco got me for my birthday. Original Def Squad jacket, thank you- so crazy!!!"

For those who aren't in the loop, Def Squad was the 1990s hip-hop supergroup consisting of Redman, Keith Murray and Erick Sermon. They released their only album, El Niño, in 1998.

Em and Red have showed mutual respect for a while now. Redman and Eminem collaborated on the 2000 track "Off The Wall," which appeared on the Nutty Professor II soundtrack. On his 2002 song "'Til I Collapse," Em names his top MCs list, mentioning Redman's name first, followed by Tupac Shakur, Biggie, Andre 3000, Jadakiss, Kurupt, Nas and himself. In 2004, Eminem produced the instrumental for Redman's "I See Dead People." They've also spoken about each other in multiple interviews, including this one from 2010 with DJ Vlad.

These two iconic rappers are still putting out music. In late September, Redman teamed up with Jayceeoh for "Bitch I'm Lit," a track from their upcoming collaboration album. Meanwhile, Slim released "Campaign Speech" in mid-October and announced a new album coming soon.
