Rapsody’s Eve Album to Be Taught at UNC-Chapel Hill and Ohio State University

Congratulations are in order for Rapsody. The Snow Hill, N.C. native is being honored with a new academic college course.

On Tuesday (April 15), Rapsody revealed that her latest album, Eve, would be taught at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Ohio State University. In an image posted to Instagram, the 37-year-old MC shared a picture of the Black Womanist Criticism and Rapsody's Eve flyer along with a message from the teacher of the course.

"I am incredibly pleased to announce that I will be teaching a course at UNC this fall on Rapsody's magnificent album, Eve. We will be examining the album track by track with readings and media to accompany each record. If you know some UNC undergrads who would like to take and ENGL course that will cover womanist philosophy, hip-hop history, and popular culture, PLEASE SHARE," the post reads.

The Grammy-nominated rapper went on to caption the photo by describing this moment as one of her "highest honors."

"One of the highest honors is to create art for the culture and have it taught in our educational institutions! Thank you @tbunzey at @uncchapelhill and Simone Drake at @theohiostateuniversity," Rapsody said.

Rapsody is among rappers like OutKast, Master P and Nas who have also had college courses inspired by them. Back in 2017, OutKast was acknowledged at the Armstrong State University in Savannah, Ga. with a course called OutKast and the Rise of the Hip-Hop South.
