We each have plenty of memories at that space and finally, after sitting empty for a couple of years, we finally know what we can expect there.

We, luckily, have been able to enjoy the rides that we remember when most of them moved from Hoffman's Playland to Huck Finn's Playland in 2015. Since then, the land where Hoffman's was has been vacant but News10 has reported that there are finally plans for it.

A few ideas have been proposed but finally one was presented to the Hoffmans that they agree with. They're calling it the "Galleria at Loudonville." It's a new housing complex with about 170-180 units and will include both independent and assisted living. They're hoping that they can utilize the lower street level for retail as well as some high-end restaurants.

They think utilizing the space for senior living "complements the existing traffic pattern" and brings the property full circle. People who spent their childhoods or younger years at Hoffman's Playland can return to the space again and use it a different way.

No word yet on when construction on this will begin. There are construction vehicles there now for an unrelated reason and it may take up to 18 months to properly review the project.
