New Punishment For Repeat DWI Offenders in New York State

You would think the possibility of hefty fines, jail time, killing somebody or yourself would be enough to deter drunk drivers. Unfortunately, it still happens. That’s why Governor Cuomo is implementing new punishments for repeat DWI offenders and Drugged Drivers. The penalties could include revoking driving privileges for life.

According to an article written in the Saratogian, around 20,000 drivers would have their licenses permanently revoked as soon as the new regs take effect.

As if lines weren’t long enough as-is, the DMV will be in charge of denying license reinstatement applications for repeat offenders.
