The nasty one is back in the lab! Nas released “Life is Good” in July and is already working on his 12th album. His last project paved the way for four Grammy nominations this year.

The new album doesn’t have a working title yet but he spoke about it briefly to the Associated Press. “Yes it has started, I must tell you. I can’t stop now. I’m in a great zone.”

If he wasn’t in the zone before, who knows how many nominations he’ll get next year. He also spoke about some of his favorite albums from 2012.

“No disrespect to nobody else in rap music, but Kendrick Lamar, I’m really happy about his record. I needed that. His record reaches you. It gives you hope. Also, Meek Mill! His energy is amazing.”

It’s no surprise that Nas would have a certain affection towards a pure lyricist like Lamar. We respect his taste with the Meek name-drop as well. Kendrick’s album good kid, m.A.A.d city and Meek’s Dreams & Nightmares are available now.
