When I heard of a Mark Wahlberg + Diddy partnership I figured it would’ve went one of two ways – either Diddy is playing the super villain in a new Wahlberg flick or Marky Mark would be returning to his hip hop roots (come on, feel it, feel it). Neither is the case. The two have ventured into the water business together. Well, that was a lot less exciting than anticipated, eh?

A press release explained the Bad Boy mogul and big screen star are working together to launch a Southern California water brand, AQUAhydrate. The former CEO of Fiji Water will be assisting them.

The brand has already locked down a few partnership deals with GNC and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers deal will be similar to what Coke and Pepsi have in place with their respective singing reality competition shows.

In a statement, Wahlberg endorsed the product by saying, “This is a truly innovative company, and I’m thrilled to be part of it. We all strive to do the best we can for our bodies but sometimes schedules, stress and other factors get in the way. AQUAhydrate helps me achieve the balance my body needs no matter what.”

Diddy added, “As a brand architect, I am incredibly passionate and equally committed to every aspect of the businesses that I get involved with. Partnering with AQUAhydrate and Mark is an incredible opportunity for me and I am looking forward to making history in the process.”

The two have known each other since Mark was still doing music. Diddy was an intern with Uptown Records at the time.
