Lil Yachty Releases New Album and Short Film, ‘Keep Sailing’ [VIDEO]
Lil Yachty, also known as Lil Boat just released his new project, So Many People, available on Apple Music. The Atlanta-bred rapper also released a short film, presented by The Fader which documents his come-up titled Keep Sailing. Yachty in the mini biopic, reveals his appeal to young people and he wants folks to know he’s “not just a rapper”, he’s a brand.
Yachty first gained social media recognition for his debut singles, "One Night" and "Minnesota" from his debut mixtape Lil Boat. Back in February, he debuted as a model for Kanye West's "Yeezy Season 3" fashion line at Madison Square Garden, and later inked a venture deal with Capital Records and Motown Records. Fast forward to today, (July 20) in the short film, directed by Canadian Photographer, Petra Collins, Lil Yachty reminds us he’s still “sailing” with his crew of day-one friends and collaborators, and discusses his dreams of fame and “flashing lights.”
“I always had dreams of, like, walking red carpets with flashing lights, and just being a superstar,” Lil Boat says in the film’s trailer. “I wanted to be famous. I wanted to be known. I wanted to be remembered.”
He sat down with The Breakfast Club a few weeks ago to introduce himself, dish on the toils of being teased and his affinity with boats. Check out the video above and his Twitter trailer below.
