Former Bad Boy artist, Shyne, was less than complimentary when discussing Kendrick Lamar’s critically acclaimed debut album, “good kid, m.A.A.d. city.” Shyne chatted with Cipha Sounds and Rosenberg from Hot 97 last month. He seemed to be a fan of Kendrick as an artist, he just wasn’t feeling the album.

“I aint starting no trouble. Listen, y’all live in the United States Of America. We don’t live in the United States of Aftermath. Jimmy Iovine (Interscope Records) doesn’t pay me, I can say whatever I want. I’m not talking reckless. I said the young boy got potential and I said he was talented but the album is trash. That’s tough love.”

Kendrick took the comments in stride during a recent radio interview. He stated he hadn’t spoken with the rapper following the comments, but he still thinks of Shyne as a good dude.

“Shout out to Shyne man. He’s a good dude man. He’s a real good dude.”

Seems like the young buck has a good head on his shoulders. Always gotta pay respect to your hip hop elders!
