Juice Wrld, Kari Faux and More: New Projects This Week
There’s a lot of fresh energy in this week’s group of new releases as some of the younger generation of rap artists have used the past few days as their time to shine.
Juice Wrld took the hip-hop community by storm in 2018. His hit single, "Lucid Dreams,” which peaked in the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as projects such as his debut offering, Goodbye & Good Riddance, and the Future collaboration Wrld on Drugs, established him as a leader of the new school during his breakout year. He’s now prepared to take things to another level with his highly-anticipated sophomore set, Death Race for Love, which features Young Thug and production from the likes of Boi-1da, Hit-Boy, No I.D., Cardo and frequent collaborator Nick Mira, who produced the lead single “Robbery.”
Life can be a trip, but Kari Faux won’t let that get her down. The self-described “crazy emotional ass artist” dropped her “personal and honest” Cry 4 Help EP this week. Equipped with songs “Medicated” and “Leave Me Alone,” the deeply personal, five-track EP tackles sensitive topics that have hit close to home for the raptress, who hails from Little Rock, Ark. The Hot Spitta Curren$y joins in on "In the Air," while JPEGMafia appears in the video for “Leave Me Alone.”
