Soups On! Popular Upstate NY Foodie Event is Set for January!
When it comes to soup, what's your fave?
Are you all about the classics like a creamy clam chowder, or piping hot chicken noodle soup, or perhaps a meaty chili? Maybe you're looking for something a little more exotic like a bisque?
All of these- plus a few you may have never tried - will be served up for all to enjoy in Schenectady at the end of the month at the Schenectady Soup Stroll!
Let's hope for a fresh coat of some Upstate NY snow and a little sunshine to keep us warm enough to enjoy the day with friends and family for this year's soup stroll!
When is this year's Schenectady Soup Stroll?
It's the return of the Schenectady Soup Stroll from 11 am to 4 pm on January 28!
Come enjoy unique soup flavors from many of the downtown Schenectady restaurants for only $1 per 3oz sample.
Last year, according to DowntownSchenectady.org, there was a total of 28 different soups for people to sample, and those who tasted at least ten were able to vote for their favorites.
Who's participating in this year's soup stroll?
A list of participating restaurants for the 7th annual stroll will be posted by organizers as they get closer to the event. To find out more, click here.
After a year hiatus in 2020, the Schenectady Soup Stroll returned last year and while there were many to sample, these 3 were judged to be the best:
- Last year, 1st place was awarded to the winner of the popular vote: The Nest's Chicken and Biscuit Soup.
- The 2nd place Silver Spoon award went to Manhattan Exchange for their Steak and Poblano Chowder with Tostones and Fried Plantains.
- The 3rd place award went to The Backstage Pub for their Roasted Red Pepper Bisque with Grilled Cheese Crouton.
