It took a while, but winter is finally acting like winter here in Upstate New York.

When the season is all said and done it will most likely still seem a little weak compared to what we are used to. But after a winter of sporadic snow mixed with mild stretches of warmer temperatures and rain, it seems we are finally getting a typical Upstate New York run of successive snow/wintry storms.

Last Thursday brought a few inches of snow and then some ice to the Albany area, and a little more snow to the north. Then we got a couple of inches of snow over a good part of the Capital Region and Upstate New York on Saturday. As we look ahead to the start of the week, we are looking at what could potentially be one of the biggest snowfalls of the season for parts of Upstate New York, including the Capital Region.

According to the National Weather Service of Albany, an "impactful" snowstorm is being forecast and a winter storm watch is in effect for Monday evening through Tuesday evening. Snowfall rates could hit an inch per hour overnight Monday into Tuesday.

So just how much snow could you get? Here are the snowfall totals News Channel 13 is predicting for various areas of Upstate New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts.
