GNA Hotshots! Albany PD Battle Saratoga Sheriff’s in 5-0 Bowl

It was a cold, blustery day on the campus of CBA High School in Latham on Sunday, but that didn't stop members of the Albany Police Department and Saratoga Sheriffs from lacing up the cleats and competing hard in this charity 9-on-9 flag football game.

Gametime temps were in the 20s, and with fans and families bundled up to watch the action, the Albany squad jumped out to an early 14-point lead, which would swell to 21-0 entering the 4th quarter.

But the Saratoga Sheriffs rallied and showed some grit.

A 4th quarter TD put them on the board, and the sheriffs followed that up with a few scoring drives that led to an impressive field goal kick that cut the lead to 21-10.

Time would run out on the sheriffs in the inaugural 5-0 Bowl, but they showed a lot of heart, even late in the game when it appeared they were out of it.

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the game - all the proceeds went to the NYS PBA and it was an honor for me and Chrissy to be involved.

We look forward to the future of the 5-0 Bowl in years to come!
