Don’t Call Back! Saratoga County Sheriff Warns Of New SCAM!

Scammers are getting more creative and this time the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office is warning of a new one. Beware if you get a certain message.

According to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, they were made aware of a scam phone call that was made to a resident. In this phone call, the resident was instructed to call the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office with a specific phone number.

Even though the phone number is operable, it is NOT a number for the Saratoga County Sheriff. THIS IS A SCAM. However, it does sound legit. When the resident called the number, a computer-generated voice stated that they had reached the "Saratoga County Sheriff's Office" and gave realistic-sounding prompts to select.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office is instructing anyone who gets this call to NOT CALL THAT NUMBER. Instead, they would like for you to call 518-885-6761 and report it. That number is also for anyone who may have contacted the scam number and given information.
