Designing a LEGO Set

LEGO has a very unique approach to their new products. Sure, they have teams working around the clock to come up with new ideas, but sometimes it's their fans that have the idea they've been looking for.

That's why they implemented "LEGO Ideas", which allows for fans to upload their own builds, which can be voted on and chosen as the next official LEGO Set.

The latest of those to be chosen? A replica of the Griswold's house from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation designed by Marcellus, N.Y. family, the Middaughs.

"A Dream Come True"

The set was designed by father, Jason Middaugh, and his daughter, Jane. Tina, the matriarch of the family, shared her excitement on Facebook, showcasing their build alongside the other thee that were chosen.

The set will be a recreation of the Griswold house, as well as Cousin Eddie's RV. The set is chock-full of little Easter eggs, from a Moose Mug to a squirrel, and more Christmas lights than is safe. It will also include minifigures of Clark, Ellen, Rusty, and Audrey, as well as more of the Griswold family, allowing you to display your favorite scenes from the film.
