Albany’s Alive At 5 Concert Series Going Back To Its Roots
An Albany favorite every summer, the Alive at 5 Summer Concert Series is going back to where it all began.
Albany and Capital Region residents eagerly anticipate the announcement of the Alive at 5 Summer Concert Series for good reason: the city always brings in stellar national music acts across all genres for free weekly shows every Thursday! What's not to love?
We still need to wait a bit to learn this year's artist lineup, but we do have some exciting news to pass along about the 2025 Alive at 5 series.
Alive at 5 Is Coming Back To Downtown Albany
After entertaining fans for years at Jennings Landing, Albany's Alive at 5 Summer Concert Series is going back to where it all began. According to a Times Union story, this summer the free concert series will return downtown to its original location at Tricentennial Park along Broadway and Columbia Street. The move is part of an effort to get more concert-goers visiting downtown businesses around the shows.
The Times Union says Tricentennial Park does have a planned renovation project that will be completed in mid-June, so the first 3 shows of the series this summer will be held at Liberty Park. This year will be a trial run, and the Times Union says a permanent decision on the location of Alive at 5 will be made when the next mayor is in office.
According to the Albany Office of Cultural Affairs, this year's Alive at 5 series will kick off on Thursday, June 5th. We will pass along the lineup as soon as we hear it!
