Albany, New York Attorney Arrested For Leaking Confidential Information
We have a lot of faith in our justice system. It's seen as this air-tight entity that can't be swayed, but in reality, it's run by humans. And humans are flawed.
Such is the case with one Albany Attorney, who bit off more than he could chew, and ruined his life, career, and good-standing with the public.

The Case in Question
This all revolves around Jasper Mills, a criminal defense attorney in Albany, who was assigned to the gang-related murder of Shanita Thomas. He was set to defend Vramir Branch in 2021. Branch was given two protective orders, in order to lower the chance of gang-related retaliation after testimony.
The trouble started when Mills received a witness list, which included one who was incarcerated in federal prison at the moment. Mills was warned multiple times that his client was, under any circumstances, not allowed to see the list. Do you think he listened to that?
Problems Arise
Wouldn't you know it, on June 5th, 2024, the witness was approached by several inmates who threatened that they would kill him if he didn't leave their housing unit immediately because they knew he "turned state witness". Turns out, the witness list had leaked on Snapchat and certain text chains, all bearing distinctive marks of Mills' handiwork.
Just a few months later, on September 8th, 2024, the witness was stabbed in prison, requiring him to stay in the hospital to fight infection. It was discovered that in May, Mills had delivered a hard drive with eyewitness testimonies to Branch while he was in jail.
Mills was convicted with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, Intimidating a Witness in the First Degree, Intimidating a Witness in the Second Degree, Tampering with a Witness in the First Degree, and Tampering with a Witness in the Second Degree.
