Living around Albany there are many things we take for granted. So what are some of these things that are underrated?

People who live in the Capital Region will talk to you all day long about all the things they think are wrong with it. If you look hard enough, through all the negativity, you'll find the residents who love living here and are quick to point out things that are great about this area. I happen to be one of those people.

I tend to look at things as glass half full, which I am sure some people find to be annoying. Too bad. I'm a positive guy and that's what you're going to get.

Now, being positive doesn't mean I am blind to some of the negative things in our area, and there are very real issues that need to be addressed. However, there are great things about the Capital Region that deserve a but more spotlight.

I personally believe that the Capital Region is a highly underrated food area. Take a look around and you'll find foods from all walks of life from around the world. Despite many chains being on places like Wolf Road and Clifton Park, there are so many great local restaurants that shine a light on what we have to offer.

We had some great feedback from you guys on Facebook about this topic. Here are a few I decided to highlight.

"The architecture in Albany is absolutely world class and stunning. You could spend many days touring Albany, taking in old world, gothic architecture downtown and even residential houses." - Dennis

"Yaddow gardens in Saratoga springs NY" - Derek

"The history that we have here, people concentrate more on the negative aspects of the capital region that they don’t see what we have. - Meranda

Dan from Troy called in and gave us his answer and Mike Karolyi also shared what he felt was underrated in our area as well.
