Fair food is great. Maybe it's not great for you, but it sure does taste good! Between the deliciously greasy meals and creamy desserts, I wouldn't be surprised if some people go to fairs just for the food and disregard the rides entirely.

That being said, I know I'm not the only one who craves fair foods year round. Sometimes just you want a burger that's so greasy it slips out of your hands, or some form of potato drowned in the heavenliest cheese sauce, or a ridiculously loaded sundae. Whatever it is, Farmer's Daughter's Drive In on Route 29 in Saratoga is sure to satisfy your cravings just about year round.

Rave Reviews!

According to Christy Articola on onlyinyourstate.com, this establishment has been feeding the souls of Saratoga for the past 59 years, and current owner Annette Osher has been running it for 10 of those years. What a legacy!

The business closes for the winter from November - March, but that's way better than a regular fair which typically isn't open outside of summer.

Okay, okay, enough teasing. Here are some mouth-watering food items found on their menu. You might want to grab a bib for your drool first though...

Capital Region's Best 'Old-School' Diners For Breakfast

5 Chain Restaurants Missing from the Capital Region

The Capital Region has more than it's fair share of chain restaurants. We have our McDonald's, Ihop, TGI Fridays, Applebees and Taco Bell. In fact there's been a steady increase of chains over the past decade or so with Sonic making its debut, a Chick-fil-A at the Albany International Airport, and the recently announced expansion of Popeyes.

If you need proof, just take a quick drive down Wolf Road in Colonie. Olive Garden, Cheesecake Factory, Chipotle, the 99 and just about everything else. Yet, there are some nationally popular chains that don't currently have a presence in the area.
