From popular tourist spots to local favorites, the residents of the Capital Region believe these are the most overrated things about Albany and beyond.

No matter where you live people are going to take for granted the things that are easily accessible to them. Why? Because it is easy for them to get so they don't understand the hype surrounding it.

I think that scenario has come into play when we asked listeners to tell us what they thought was overrated about the Capital Region. This of course being the follow up to yesterday when we asked about the underrated things in the Capital Region.

What does overrated mean?

According to the dictionary: rated or valued too highly.

Some of you understood the question being asked, and some didn't. We did get a lot of feedback via Facebook on this subject.

Here are some of our favorite responses:

"The track and the casinos" - Katie

"Quite literally everything. Everything is way overpriced and nothing is glamorous about it." - Ben

"Thatcher Park.." - Amanda

"Lake George. It's not what it used to be."  - Rhianon

"Microbrews and Restaurants" - Pete

Now, these are ALL valid responses to this question, however we have to disagree with some of them. What makes something overrated to you because it doesn't fit your nostalgia meter or way of life doesn't mean that it is actually overrated. It could just be that you don't enjoy it the same way. That's ok! People change.

I think Karolyi said it best today when he felt the Capital Region was perfectly rated. We are right in the middle, and that's not a bad place to be.
