Through five innings at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night, it seemed as though the New York Yankees were on their way to a victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit a two-run home run to extend the team's lead to 4-1, and two batters later, Gleyber Torres homered for the second time in the game, giving New York the 5-1 advantage. Naturally, the Yankees' social media team found a creative way to celebrate their team's mid-inning success.

It was that post, however, that went viral for the wrong reason later in the game, and the Orioles' social media team was able to capitalize on it in a hilarious response.

Baltimore Orioles' Social Media Team 'Trolls' Yankees Following Road Win

The top of the seventh inning of Wednesday night's game, played between the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles, quickly became an inning that Yankees' fans will want to forget.

Then, Baltimore began to claw back in the game, and ultimately, completed their comeback to take the lead:

The Yankees would muster one more run of offense after the eight-run onslaught by the O's. It wasn't enough, however, as the road team wound up victorious on Wednesday night.

Just after the final pitch was thrown, the Orioles posted this:

For those who do not know, this is another section of Taylor Swift's song, Shake It Off. Ironically, that's exactly what the Yankees will have to do on Thursday in order to pick up the series win.

Here were some of our favorite responses to the Orioles' masterful Twitter troll job:

Meanwhile, on Yankees' Twitter, fans weren't quite as thrilled:

This, right here, is the beauty of social media being used within the context of professional sports. Sports are, by nature, a form of entertainment, and social media content like this helps to get more fans engaged during each game.

Now, we all  have to wait until the conclusion of Thursday's rubber game between these two teams. If New York wins, here's hoping that they have something entertaining up their sleeve to get back at Baltimore.
