When Bills Mafia comes together to support a cause, or a common goal, anything is possible. That concept was proven true once again, as this time around, the Buffalo Bills and their fanbase came together to help legendary broadcaster Jim Nantz, who lost his mother last year, and had to travel to a game in Buffalo soon after she passed.

Nantz took a moment to speak about the treatment he received while in Buffalo, and it's a story that'll make you smile, and possibly even cry. Either way, it will also re-affirm your faith in humanity, and confirm that the Buffalo Bills' fanbase is among the best you'll find in pro sports.

Broadcaster Jim Nantz Shares Moving Story About Buffalo Bills, Bills Mafia

With the 2023 PGA Championship being played in Central (or Upstate? I don't know anymore...) New York this weekend, Buffalo Bills' stars Josh Allen and Von Miller travelled to Oak Hill Country Club to witness some of the action.

At some point during the tournament, Allen and Miller got the chance to catch up with Jim Nantz, long-time broadcaster for CBS Sports, who has called a fair share of games at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo in recent years.

It was during this meet-up that Nantz shared this moving story about his experience in Buffalo following the loss of his mother:

It's a truly incredible story, and one that proves how powerful the Buffalo community can be when they unite to achieve a common goal.

We also thought this response was pretty funny, too:

We dug a bit deeper in order to understand why the financial support from Bills Mafia meant to much to Jim Nantz.

As it turns out, Nantz has been heavily involved in the fight against Alzheimer's for over two decades, and established the Nantz National Alzheimer Center in 2011. As written on the Houston Methodist Hospital website, the NNAC is named in honor of Jim's father, Jim Nantz Jr., who died in 2008 after suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for 13 years; and as a lasting tribute to his late mother, Doris, and adoring sister, Nancy for their tireless efforts as caregivers.

The center is committed to generating awareness of the disease and its symptoms, given that it impacts over six million Americans. The professionals who work at the NNAC are doing ground-breaking research in their pursuit of a cure, and all of it is happening in association with the Nantz family name.

This cause means the world to Jim Nantz, and Bills Mafia stepped up when he needed it most.
