We were pretty sure that things had gone south in Buffalo for Stefon Diggs, Josh Allen and the rest of the Bills.

What we weren't sure about, however, was how bad the situation really was. Sure, we saw small examples of bad blood between Diggs and other members of the team from time to time.

For example:

As sports fans would expect, however, we never learned anything publicly about Diggs' relationship with the team, nor did we know how other Bills' players felt about the star wide receiver.

Then, suddenly, we learned that Diggs had been traded. In the blink of an eye, it was over.

The Bills sent Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, another AFC heavyweight, in exchange for draft compensation. In the process, the Bills incurred a $31 million cap penalty, which impacts their ability to sign more players for the 2024 season.

So, why would the Bills willingly take on $31 million in salary that they cannot spend, just to trade a player who has been a key part of their offense for four seasons?

The Athletic’s Tim Graham appears to have answered that question on his most recent podcast. Take a listen (language warning):

Here's the concerning part of the clip, for those that did not hear it:

“But Josh Allen snapped at him, and he said, ‘It’s one f–king game,’ and kind of motioned I’m not talking to you here, and Diggs walked away and Josh sat there,” Graham recalled. “… Whatever Stefon Diggs said to him, Josh Allen wasn’t having it.” - Tim Graham via The New York Post

Keep in mind: this is all speculation. Nobody has publicly addressed this situation, and it may be years before we get any real information about Diggs and other Bills' players, if we even get any information at all.

That said, this podcast clip is a scathing endictment of the relationship between Allen and Diggs. What's more, very few players (if any) have posted anything on social media wishing Diggs well with the Houston Texans.

To make a long story short, Stefon Diggs is gone, and it doesn't seem as though many people close to the Bills are too banged up about it.
