The Buffalo Bills play a hugely important game today, as they host the 10-3 Dallas Cowboys at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff is at 4:25.

Bills and NFL fans though are still discussing what took place last Sunday.

The Bills beat the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 20-17 at Arrowhead Stadium. The game ended in controversy, at least it was to the Chiefs, as wide receiver Kadarius Toney was lined up offside before the snap and a touchdown by Toney was called back. Patrick Mahomes threw two incomplete passes after that, which ended the game.

Mahomes tried to go after the officials when he went back to the sideline, said "that was the worst call he had ever seen" to Josh Allen postgame and then continued to be critical of the officiating in his postgame press conference.

So was Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who called the NFL officiating "a bit embarrassing." Reid also stated that they usually get warned when offensive players are lined up offside.

On Saturday, the NFL levied big fines to both Reid and Mahomes for being critical of the officials, which has to do with the integrity of the officiating.

Both Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter reports that the NFL has fined Reid $100,000 and Mahomes $50,000 for their comments last Sunday.

In the end, the correct call was made, as Toney was indeed offside and it wasn't even remotely close. Referee Carl Cheffers said to a pool reporter postgame that Toney was actually blocking the line of sight at the ball and didn't check with him to see if he was lined up correctly. Cheffers said it's the Chiefs responsibility to make sure they aren't offside and the call was too egregious to not be made.

The Bills win last week helped their playoff hopes and had a mixed bag of good and bad news yesterday in the AFC.

The Cincinnati Bengals won a thrilling game vs. the Minnesota Vikings, but the Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Indianapolis Colts, and the Detroit Lions defeated the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos loss was huge, as they would hold the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Bills.
