It was an intense band of strong storms that left some major flooding behind across portions of New York State this week.

The summer weather has already started and the heat and humidity are here. It won't officially be the summer until this coming weekend and it feels as though it is going to be a long and hot few months!

But for one are of New York State, it was a long afternoon as the heavy rain caused a massive flood on the I-90 in New York State.

The heavy rains were fueled by a very humid air mass that moved through ahead of a cold front. It left drivers waiting in a long line of traffic on the New York State Thruway.

"FLOODING - ROCHESTER: Due to heavy rain that rolled through the area, there is significant flooding at the I-90 exit 46 (Rochester - Corning - I-390) interchange. Please use caution if traveling through the area and seek alternate routes if possible".

Thankfully, the forecast is calling for a cooler couple of days. However, the hot weather is making a significant comeback as we start summer. Most of Western New York will see temperatures get in to the upper 80's for much of the first full week of summer.
