When bluesy rock meets southern hip-hop, you get Gary Clark Jr.'s 'Blak and Blu (Big K.R.I.T. Remix).'

Clark and Big K.R.I.T. team up for the new single from Clark's 'Blak and Blu: The Mixtape.' While the remix melodically sounds like the original, the track sounds like a R&B tune out of the '90s with Clark sounding more like John Legend than the raspier vocals we get from 'Bright Lights.' That's where Big K.R.I.T. comes in and adds the dangerous edge with his slick lyrics.

"I know what you're going through / No need to be shy about it/ Ain't none of us brand new/ Don't let the world brand you," followed by the declarative, "You got to knuckle up, knuck and buck, shake your dreads," the Mississippi rapper delivers.

The free mixtape has no release date yet, but Robert Glasper, Bilal, Talib Kweli, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott are all featured on it.
