Coronavirus Patients From NYC Transferred To Albany Med
As the Coronavirus Pandemic spreads in NYC and all throughout New York State, hospitals are running out of capacity to care for patients forcing them to rely on other hospitals for help.
Many people are calling New York City the "Ground Zero" of Covid-19. As it stands NYC has more coronavirus cases than any other place in the nation. New York state rose to over 80k people infected, 40,000 of which are in New York City. As of Wednesday, the death toll is 1,941 people. Which is up from 1,550 on Tuesday.
Gov Cuomo recently called upon all New York State hospitals to band together. Medical supplies and protective equipment are limited and NYC hospitals are over capacity.
According to WNYT, In a statement, Dr. Dennis McKenna, the incoming president and CEO of the hospital, says Albany Med believes it is their responsibility to help.story
