Michael Jackson’s former doctor, Conrad Murray, was released from Los Angeles’ Men’s Central Jail early Monday morning (Oct. 28) after serving a two-year sentence. The 60-year-old former cardiologist was lead out of the facility away from photographers who gathered outside.

In November 2011, Murray was sentenced to four years in prison for his involvement in the death of the late King of Pop. He was released two years early because he was given an additional day of credit for each day he served.

Outside of the prison, a group of Michael Jackson supporters heckled Murray’s attorney, Valerie Wass, as she spoke to the media.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff Department wouldn’t explain why Murray was whisked away in secret only to say that it was for "safety" and "security."

Now that he’s a free man, Murray hopes to practice medicine again, however, his licenses have been suspended in California, Nevada and Texas. His attorney told reporters that he hopes to have his licenses reinstated now that he's been released.

Sources have told TMZ that Murray has penned a book about his life and his time with Michael Jackson. He’s also looking into a possible reality series about his life after prison.

Murray has yet to make a statement about his newfound freedom.
